Slot Receivers
Slot is a game in which players pull handles to spin reels that display pictures. If they match the symbols on pay lines, a player wins a prize. The winning symbols are determined by a random number generator, or RNG.

They’re often a part of the receiving team’s “core,” but they can also play a role in other areas of the offense.
Slot receivers are also a key component of the running game, particularly in slants and quick outs. On these plays, slot receivers help the quarterback to throw the ball into open spaces by picking up blitzes and blocking for the running back.

The most important thing a slot receiver can do is perfect their routes. Having a variety of routes helps them find open spaces, and it also means they’ll be more consistent when it comes to timing.
